FGB IV

So my intention was to go to FGB IV Saturday as a cheerleader only. I couldn't resist doing the workout though. This was first workout since hurting my shoulder and since I've started getting migraines again. I was pretty sure I was going to get a migraine, but I did it anyway.

I ended up doing the women's intermediate version. Which was a 10 pound wall ball, 35 pounds Sumo Deadlift High Pull, 20 in step up, 35 pound push press and rowing... Wall balls and box jumps were the worst part. I felt like I was on top of the wall, and just couldn't get a good rhythm for the wall balls, and the box jumps? Well anyone that knows me, knows I HATE box jumps and am terrified of sharp pointy corners. The SDHP's and Push presses and rowing were a nice break from the 2 really sucky parts. I didn't strap in to the rower the first 2 rounds (per Garth's instruction), I think that cost me a few calories because I was trying to stay on, live and learn....

My score was 154. I'm not thrilled about it, but am looking forward to doing this WOD again.

About 30 minutes after the WOD, I got a totally awesome migraine and sat outside the rest of the day. Thank you to everyone that came to check on me, sorry for the snot and makeup running down my face, but at that point i was hoping someone would come put me out of my misery and wasn't caring to much about how I looked.

Congrats to Stacy on winning gold, Pete on bronze and the team winning silver. It was a fun day.

Working out tonight. Woo hoo!!!

Since I've started this challenge (a week ago I think?) I've lost 4.5 pounds. Yes, that .5 matters!
I'm going to attempt working out tonight. So wish me luck.

So yesterday for breakfast I had 3 eggs, 1/8 c of cheese, green peppers, tomatoes, onions and 2 slices of ham (I think that's about 1 oz) all scrambled together. Very yummy. Didn't eat again until much later because I took 2 naps yesterday because of not sleeping the night before.

My dad helped me finish cleaning out what was left in storage and then he bought me a burger. I ate about 1/2 of the bun because I was starving and knew just the burger wasn't going to fill me up. When I got home I had a salad with mixed greens, spinach, tomato and green pepper with some blue cheese dressing (mmmm).

I slept a little better last night. So we'll see if I can stay awake today! My shoulder hurts more when I'm resting (sitting, typing, driving, sleeping, etc.) but moving all the boxes didn't really hurt.

Still not feeling good enough to work out

Well, I can type today. That is a vast improvement over yesterday. Couldn't move Friday, so slowly getting better. I'm taking muscle relaxers and using Icy/Hot patches, which are wonderful. Friday went out with Stacy and did have a few drinks.... Can't rememeber what I ate, but I think it was only about 600 calories (I slept most of the day b/c of the hurty shoulder/arm thing) Had a glass of red wine, a beer (16oz coors lite) and a shot of Jameson (mmmmm).

Saturday had a garage sale. For breakfast 3 eggs with mushrooms and little tiny bit of cheese and 4 slices of bacon. Dinner was a 5oz of chicken that I made the day before and an avocado. The battery on my scale died right after I measured the chicken. Oh, and I was able to measure an ounce of almonds...

Sunday my shoulder and arm felt worse so I was lazy again. My dad came over around 2pm to pick up some stuff he left in my garage, so I went and bought us lunch. Gyros :) No pita though.
Dinner was a grilled chicken tender salad.

Monday, still no typing.... Ate 2 hamburger patties w/ avocado and salsa. Dinner was a steak and a small side salad w/ blue cheese dressing.

No exercise to speak of except for the garage sale day and then cutting grass. I haven't had the energy b/c i'm up at least 8 times a night. I try to time the muscle relaxers and ibuprofen right so I can sleep through the night, but no luck yet.

Oh my back!!!

So after last nights workout of 1000m row, 50 Thrusters, and 30 pullups my back is KILLING me. (and my left arm). It's difficult to even sit here and type and I barely slept at all.

Although I did wake up at 1:30 to find that one of my dogs had peed on my bed. Good times.

So for Breakfast yesterday I had a 2 egg 'omelet' with tomato, onion, green pepper, 1/4cup of cheese, garlic powder, pepper and olive oil drizzled over it. and lots of almonds....

Lunch was 2oz of roast beef, I wasn't very hungry after breakfast.

Dinner was 2 chili lime chicken burgers from trader joe's with guacamole dip and garlic chili pepper sauce and a small salad of butter lettuce, avocado, olive oil and white wine vinegar. mmmmm I love vinegar.

For the most part I'm not too hungry, not like the first time I started changing my diet. I've been cutting out carbs for months now, so it's not a huge adjustment, it's really just making sure there are less cheat meals and no drinking.

As for last nights workout, I just feel so slow. I had done 25 thrusters and everyone was already starting their pull-ups. And I felt very slow rowing. I'm going to try to start running everyday to build up my stamina. I think that's a big part of it. The weight doesn't feel heavy, but I get tired so quickly. Everyone was very supportive though and cheered me on. So thank you ladies!!!

I did take a 3 week break and then another week in between, so hopefully after a month of working out consistently I'll be faster... maybe.

I'm gonna go take a couple ibuprofen and lay on a heating pad now...

My first blog EVER

So I officially started the Crossfit Fire 60 Day Better Body challenge Wednesday morning. I wasn't going to do a blog, thinking logging my food on My Plate was enough. But as a I read everyone else's day to day struggles with food, working out, etc... I figured I should share too. It's only fair...

Wednesday I ate:
Almonds for a morning snack

Lunch: Waldorf salad (apple, dried cranberries, walnuts, lettuce & mayo). I did not realize how many carbs would be in those cranberries. You won't be seeing that on the menu ever again....

Dinner: Salad (lettuce, tomato, avocado, roasted turkey breast, blue cheese dressing and guacamole type dip) I need to cut out the blue cheese I know, but it's soooo good. The guacamole dip stuff I think I'll be throwing out. It was in my fridge, so I feel like I need to eat it. Starving children somewhere ya know?

If you want to see the actual portions of everything, you can check it out on My Plate. I'm not going to get THAT involved.

As for exercise, I didn't make it to the Fort, so I took the dogs for a long walk, cut the grass, did 20 squats, 10 pushups (5 sets of 2, still suck at em), 50 situps and 5 handstands (about 10 - 15 seconds each attempt)
